Spectrum Inspire School Program

The Spectrum Program is a parent-choice program crafted for students in grades K-13+. Spectrum accepts direct referrals from parents seeking to provide their child with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or other developmental disabilities, the opportunity to engage in programs that are individualized and specialized to offer integrated academics, behavioral development and the enhancement of social skills.

Moreover, the Spectrum Program accepts referrals from public and private school districts, social services agencies, and various network providers. Each student placement within our programs is considered on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that every child receives the most appropriate and personalized support suited to their unique needs.

Intervention Services

Spectrum employs a range of research-based interventions aimed at bridging learning gaps for our students. We utilize the most current curricula for reading and math tutoring during the school day and provide pull-out services for our lowest-performing students.

A School-wide Approach to Intervention

Academic interventions are supplementary instructions that enhance the general curriculum (regular classroom instruction) and may involve support outside the standard classroom (such as pull-out sessions for small group instruction) to boost academic performance.

The primary objective of academic intervention is to ensure student success in achieving grade-level expectations. These interventions are crafted to assist students in mastering specific skills, practicing existing skills until they are fluent, or applying learned skills in new learning situations.

i-Ready Testing Data

i-Ready is an online diagnostic tool for assessing reading and math skills.
This academic year, Spectrum is again implementing this program for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The platform enables students to learn at their own pace and according to their specific level based on placement scores.

In previous years, we have observed a 17% increase in annual growth, with 20% of our students achieving improved placement scores!
In reading, 43% of students dedicate approximately 30 minutes each week to individualized instruction, while 31% of students spend a similar amount of time on tailored math instruction.

A Group Effort

Related services teams engage in comprehensive collaboration with the education team to effectively integrate and generalize functional skills for children across various environments, including school, community, and vocational settings. This collaborative effort is pivotal in ensuring that students can apply learned skills in diverse real-world contexts, enhancing their overall adaptability and independence.

In these educational arenas, both individual and small group instruction are integrated with an applied behavior analysis approach, tailored to meet the specific needs of each setting. The instructional methods are designed to be flexible and responsive, ensuring that each student's unique profile of strengths and weaknesses is acknowledged and addressed. This necessitates individualized services that are initiated with a clinically sound assessment process. To accurately evaluate each student, we utilize comprehensive tools such as the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS) and the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), which provide detailed insights into the student's capabilities and areas for growth.

The development of an individualized program for each student is spearheaded by the classroom Intervention Specialist (IS), who plays a crucial role in crafting a plan that aligns with the student's specific needs and learning objectives. In some instances, additional support services become essential to accommodate the educational needs of children with special challenges, which can stem from physical, mental, or emotional difficulties. To address these needs comprehensively, Spectrum Inspires' education team works in close partnership with the support team, ensuring that services are well-coordinated with our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), Occupational Therapists (OT), and other vital members of the multidisciplinary team. This seamless collaboration aims to provide a holistic support system that empowers each child to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.
